still ill. didnt have to do crit today which was good - doing it thurs as i'm kinda loosing my voice. have been waking up every hour or so @ night and having bad dreams that i only ever get when i'm ill. Tangible solidness in things that i would normally consider v soft, like pillows and marshmallows - it really pisses me off cos it means i cant sleep.
Made an appointment to see the doc on weds @ 9am. Feel really awful... have been coughing like crazy... its really getting to me... :(

Have new fave author: Christopher Brookmyre His novels are Brilliant with a capital B for Bloody Fantastic :) I've read Quite Ugly One Morning and The Sacred Art Of Stealing and I'm going to get my mitts on the rest of his novels asap :) Effing Supurb
Am back in the UK by the way, tapping away on my Mac (calm down die-hard PC users, I used to use a PC too but I decided that a Mac would be the best option for me for the future and I can safely say that I can see the advantages, and disadvantages, of both types of computer) and using the internet when it's not being tempremental.
Sat next to a bloke on the plane who didn't go to the bathroom for the whole of the flight, and I noticed that he drank v little too. His action, or lack of it as regards his response to natures call, seems to have proved my theory that airplane toilets are scary things. What could it be other than a fear of being vacuum welded to the seat in some freak accident? Which has happened inccidentally in the USA... hahaha!
Am still jet-lagged so am going to catch some v early Z's (v early is 21:30 for me, v late is 0200 onwards)

Grrrrrrrrrrrr....... Can't find my Photoshop programme discs so I can put them back onto my computer...gggggggrrrrrrrrr....... I NEED Photoshop!!!

Saw the funniest thing yesterday :) Tattie, a good friend of mine, and I were walking back home from the train station and, quite randomly placed in the middle of the pavement we see a dead squid. No joke. It was hilarious. We both walked around it and said "Eew" and that was that. Until about 5 minutes later when I thought about it again and burst out laughing. You would NEVER get that in the UK! If I had seen that in the UK, I can only imagine the looks on peoples faces, I mean, just imagine what they would DO! It was such a funny mental image I shared it with Tattie right away and both of us walked along for a few mins laughing like loons fresh out of Crazy Central. HAHAHAHAHAHA....!

I am now back @ home in a warmer climate with most of my friends within easy reach, my family being very happy to see me but driving me up the wall with it as per usual and lots more to do than I had anticipated...!
The flight was very smooth, and we were only delayed by 1 hour. The two guys next to me on the flight weren't the friendliest or most pleasant of traveling companions though. They grumbled to each other when I climbed over their seats the one time I went to the bathroom, hence scaring me into not going to the toilet again for the rest of the flight! Twats... Plus it doesn't help that I got so goddam hungry during the "night" part of the flight that I actually asked the air hostess for a pot noodle. I am the kind of person that never, EVER eats pot noodles - in my opinion the polystyrene pot they come in is more nutritious and better tasting than anything in it. So yeah... I was hungry...it was baaaaaaaaaad...!
When I got to Chep Lap Kok, I had to rummage around in my bag for my HK ID (which inccidentally gave me a mini heart attack cos I thought I had dropped it somewhere) in the HK Permanent ID line with all these Chinese people muttering things like "Why is she in this line? She must be in the wrong queue. Maybe she can't read? But she's a gwai lo... Is she stupid?"
I can tell you now that it wasn't welcome, but it was funny :) And then I saw someone from my old school lining up to get back in to HK too! It was really weird! He had been sitting on the same flight, in the same row, on the other side of the plane! How biz is THAT? So we chatted and exchanged numbers while we were waiting for our luggage, and then we walked out into the arrivals hall.
I wanted to see my mum and dad so badly that when I spotted them I couldn't walk fast enough to get to them without looking completely undignified and breaking into a run - a new step for me. I usually don't care what I look like to others, but I wanted to make a good impression the first time I got back. :)

I have work for uni to do though so I have to disappear, I'll blog later

My group crit went well for me on thurs :) The only criticism the tutor madewas that my ideas need to be more visual - I need more little drawings to go with my ideas so that others can see exactly what I mean. Fine :) I already knew that I had to do that, so it was nothing upsetting :)
Saying goodbye to ppl went pretty well actually... It wasn't as hard to do as I thought it would be, but with some of my friends I felt really sad knowing that I wouldn't be seeing them for quite a while... Oh well... I'll see them soon enough I guess! :)
I'm going home today!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! I've got to complete my packing, have a shower, make something to eat on the coach, and post a parcel before I go to the coach station @ 12:30 and its 10:09 right now. I'm good, I got time, I just gotta keep calm and not panic or I'll screw up everything! hahaha!
I'll write when I get back home! :) :) :)

I'm really really happy today because so many good things have happened to me recently :)

I went out to dinner with a bunch of my friends last night and we had a great time, loads of laughs and lots of funny pics to remind me of the good times :) Plus I had today off, but I went in because I've been asked to model this dress for a 2nd year fashion/costume student @ my uni so I went in for the second fitting. The fitting went really well, her lecturers are really pleased :) The dress is wicked, its based on a character in a play, she's an oriental princess and the dress design is really really nice :) I'm really tempted to buy the dress off her when the year is over!

After the fitting, I went down our local shopping high street with one of my friends from uni, and we handed in my film for 1 hr processing, and went shopping :) I bought a gorgeous creamy while jumper thats also a hoodie! I love it! And I also got a matching hat and scarf that are just really cool g-sixty-four was the name of the brand, but it doesn't mean much to me @ the mo lol! I also got these absolutely HILARIOUS christmas cards :) I'll try scan the cover board in, cos they are just terriffic ;) I was in such a festive mood today! I even bought a branch of holly for my room!!! We had lunch, and I went off to collect my photos, and you won't believe what happened! I was SO THRILLED:

It started snowing.

Now for those of you who consider this no big deal, you have no idea how wonderful this was for me - it has made my Christmas!!! I have never EVER been among falling snowflakes, and to see them randomly drifting down towards me today was really really special. I love the way bigger snowflakes actually make that soft sploott sound when they hit the ground. My friend and I are from Hong Kong, so snowfall is novel to both of us :) I acted like such a big kid! :) I had a HUGE grin on my face and I kept jumping up and down and repeating "Oh my god! oh my GOD! It's ACTUALLY SNOWING! This is WICKED!"

And my photos were hilarious!!! The faces that some of my mates do are just the best :) I luv 'em all, they're so great :) And there's this really nice one of Manz and I at my birthday bash, really nice, but we both have red eye hahaha! But we DO look sober, so thats good :) hehehe!

I've been downloading some of the songs of one of my fave bands today too :) "Politically Correct", "Right Now" and "Let It Whip" by SR-71 baby!and a couple of others, but they are my personal faves. I have to watch The New Guy ASAP. It's a priority! ;)

Have just had a whole body massage........ :) Am so relaxed I could fall asleep right now........

I have a project to finish for thursday, and it's tuesday, and I really don't want thurs to come for several reasons... I have to hand in my project, but much worse than that, I have to say goodbye to a lot of my friends for the christmas holidays... :( I hate saying goodbye, it really gets me down... I always feel really depressed just thinking about it... There are quite a few ppl that I really don't want to have to say goodbye to, even if it IS only for 16-17 days.

I think the thing I am paranoid about the most is me coming back and finding that those ppl have changed, even slightly. Or they don't feel as close any more, and we all just drift apart... I don't think I could bear that, but life goes on and I will survive - like I said, it's only 16-17 days. It'll be a good test of my strength and it'll test the bonds of all our friendships I guess. I'll just be ranting about them all throughout my whole holiday :)

Speaking of testing my strength, I don't know if I'll be able to leave HK again. Cos this time I'll be alone when I do it...

Well, Faint heart ne'er won fair lady and No rain, no rainbows so I just gotta give it my all and go hell for leather. Life's a bitch, but I'm a bigger one ;) I don't just live my life, I Live My Life.

But now it's getting late and I'm tired, so I'm gonna go get a really good sleep and wake up real refreshed and ready to go.

Wrapping Precious Items by Jen

You ever go into a shop, buy a few things that are listed under the fragile or breakable catagory? Well, if you’re in the kind of store where they do all the wrapping and putting into bags for you, doesn’t it bother you that when they wrap things like cups they take all the paper/plastic/bubblewrap/whatever and stuf it inside? What the hell kind of good is it going to do there? “Dang it, i dropped it, but the bubble wrap’s intact”

I mean. seriously, what is with that? It has no logic behind it whatsoever, yet it continues to be done in stores around the world. Use some logic please people, it’s not that hard!

Airplane Bathrooms by Jen

Airplane Toilets. Aren’t they among the top 10 scariest objects that orbit the face of this planet? They come second only to nuclear silos in my book, especially the ones that enforce the vacuum suck. i always think I’m gonna get whipped into the bowels of the toilet tank whenever I flush the damn things. Scary stuff, not to mention whats down there anyway!

But aren’t the rooms they’re in just the coolest? I love those little rooms, it’s like having your own personal space on the entire aircraft. Which is probably why people seem to spend so long in there because theres no such thing anywhere on the rest of the plane. Unless you’re the crew or something. Then you get to have a little galley kitchen, or the cockpit. Thing is, you still gotta share that with the other crew members.

On a long haul flight it’s not that bad though. There’s usually a little cabin crew rest area tucked in away somewhere at the back of the plane upstairs. But before you gather your pickforks and demand little rooms on planes, I can tell you that this one is no paradise. You can’t stand upright at all unless you’re under 4 foot tall, and the bunks are hardly separated from each other let alone from the rest of the room so you can hear everyone else snoring and grunting about annoying passengers in their sleep if you’re still awake after your long shift on deck.

I have to point out though, I don’t think that the crew really care, as they’ve all worked with each other before, and they are probably too knackered to stay awake after having to answer little “blings” and find LED’s all over the plane. They’re really there to save your butt should something go wrong, so take it easy on them and lay off the call button. Unless there’s a real emergency, like the person next to you has really bad air sickness and you’ve all run out of airsick bags for them... just kidding ;)
